I don't think I have a set "regimen" as of yet but I have found some products that I'm in LOVE with!

  • Apple Cider Vinegar-  I use this once a week to get any build up out of my hair. Usually, I use a a water bottle and fill about two ounces with apple cider vinegar and the rest with cool water. No precision, just pour it right onto my scalp and let it sit for about a minute or two with a light scalp massage to release any build up and rinse with the coolest water I can stand in the shower. I tend to have a dry scalp so this works wonders for me. Doesn't leave a smell when it dries and gives my hair some shine.
  • Curls Goddess Glaze- I purchased this recently from Target to use as a curl definer......I'm not even halfway through the bottle and I'm ready to buy two more! I've tried this on wet (soaking)  and damp hair, I find it works better, for me, on soaking hair because that's when my hair is most curly. There's a pump on the bottle so you can dispense just the right amount and from there, I scrunch the product into my hair and just let it air dry. Granted, I do use a mix of oils right before I add Curls but my is still very soft after I use it.
  • Carol's Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey- The smell... the feel.... This stuff is just great. so far I've used it on a blowout and on twists and this leaves my hair soft without a greasy feel. Actually, I bought it because I thought it would help me with slicking back but its too light for my hair for that purpose. The smell is a medium intensity so you get a whiff of it briefly but I doubt it would cause any headaches unless you were allergic to one of its ingredients.  I'm crossing this off because its starting to leave a certain greasiness to my hair. Maybe I can add it back to the list in the future.
  • Aussie Moist Conditioner-To start, its thick enough to coat my hair without leaving any residue or a weird coat on my hair. I use it about 2-3 times a week depending on what I'm doing with my hair and if I need to detangle. There is definitely enough slip to detangle my hair which takes about 20-30 minutes (right now.) The other reason? Its not expensive. The liter size costs $6.00 at Walmart and it has a pump so you're not fighting with the bottle in the shower. Also, after the bottle is empty, you can use it for another product!
  • Aussie Moist Leave In Conditioner- Comes in a nice spray bottle, the smell is pleasant and so far its worked with the different gels that I've been using. - Crossing this off because it works in a fix but I don't love it
  • Homemade Hair and Body Butter from The Good Hair Shop- Smells good, shea butter based. I have the sparkling grape one and it smells soo good. Not too fruity and I've been using it on my skin and hair for my twists for awhile and I'm absolutely in love. The salon in here in Atlanta but there is a link to order some if you live further away.
  • Oyin Handmade Hair Dew- *sigh* My hair LOVES LOVES LOVES this stuff!!! The consistency of creamy but its actually water-based so it doesn't weigh my hair down. The smell reminds me of baked goods like cookies or something and it can be pretty intense when you first use it but to me, the smell does die down a little during the day. It comes in several sizes from a 2oz sample all the way up to a liter that has a pump. I think this is best for those in the 4 category (kinky/curly)
